Cibola
The seven cities of the gold otherwise known as Cibola was another ancient paradise located in what is now Colombia. In 1536 when Cabeza De Vaca and three tattered companions, sole survivors of a shipwrecked expedition, arrived in what is now Mexico City after eight years of wandering around what Is now the American southwest. Upon their return, Cabeza told the story of the seven large cities with streets and buildings covered in gold and trimmed with emeralds. Upon learning of these stories, a man by the name of Francisco Vasquez De Coronado began an expedition to find Cibola. In his pursuit of Cibola, he and his fellow explorers ran into resistance from the local natives over the years. Eventually, Coronado found what he was looking for, but I was nothing more than a few ramshackle huts.
